Can’t recommend Tim highly enough. He has helped spread the word about BFilm Micro and our various projects over the past six months to great effect. Tim’s proactive approach to social media has helped BFilm Micro reach a wider target audience than we could ever have imagined.

Tim worked as a production assistant for the filming of a performance by a group of young people at Aston Hall. The performance was organised by Birmingham Royal Ballet Ambassadors, and was a contemporary version of Romeo and Juliet. It was not a straightforward performance – we were following the performers through the Hall, which presented quite a challenge for the film crew. This did not phase Tim at all – in fact it was obvious that he relished the challenge. Tim is incredibly personable, enthusiastic, able and reliable, showing great initiative throughout. He threw himself into the role from the moment he arrived at the location, and was clearly keen to learn from those around him with more experience. I really enjoyed working with Tim and would definitely like to work with him on future projects. I’m sure Tim will go far in this industry.

Tim has been connected with the Everyman Theatre for around 14 years and I knew him initially as a member of the Youth Theatre. He started volunteering in the Front of House department upon graduating in 2013 and then became a paid usher in June 2014.

Tim has a clear commitment to and passion for theatre and is eager to learn about any and all aspects of theatre. After graduating he certainly took every opportunity to immerse himself in the industry.

I have always found Tim to be a gentle and thoughtful young man. In the workplace, as a member of our Front of House team, he is an all-rounder; he has strong people skills, a good sense of initiative and is always happy to help in any scenario. I have no doubt that he would approach his MA with this attitude; and I believe that he would benefit from the MA to consolidate and build on all of his training and experience so far.

Tim Montague was a great asset to the Development Team at The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival in both 2013 and 2014, helping to look after the Festival’s many sponsors.

He is extremely hard working, reliable and a pleasure to work with. The role involved juggling multiple tasks simultaneously, such as co-ordinating branding, hand outs and other sponsor- related logistics. Tim is particularly good at planning ahead, using his initiative to prioritise and ensure that everything is done in good time. Tim is happy and confident in taking the lead, and could always be depended upon to not only carry out his duties, but to assist others too.

Tim also spent part of the Festival working for the Festival Team, performing front of house duties, venue set-up, site maintenance and event support. He provided excellent customer service and support to audiences, speakers and other volunteers.

Tim’s helpful, considerate and enthusiastic nature made him a valued member of the team, and we hope to have the opportunity to work with him again.

Cheltenham Festivals

As a volunteer at The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival 2013 and 2014, Tim was proactive, hardworking and enthusiastic. He took any task at hand with a smile and eagerness that made the venue team excel. Tim was involved with both front of house and back of house responsibilities and dealt with customers, speakers, interviewers and famous writers with a professional and friendly approach.
I have no hesitation recommending Tim to future employers, where he will be an enviable asset to any team.

Tim was Trainee Assistant Stage Manager on Vamos Theatre’s tour of England and Wales between January and June 2014 with Finding Joy, a full-mask mimed play. His duties included running backstage during performance, including live cues with a DVD and torches, costume changes, scene change during the interval, and prop running; assisting with get-in and get-out and loading and unloading the van; and setting up the merchandise table front of house.

I found him to be very hard-working, conscientious, and helpful, and I came to rely on him a great deal over the course of the tour.

Thus I thoroughly recommend him to any employer.

Tour Manager
Finding Joy 2014

Tim Montague is a brilliant and talented young theatre lover.

I have worked with him for over four years on a variety of projects. As a member of Vamos Young People’s Theatre he has played varied mask characters with charm and humour in all his roles.

Tim is dedicated, hard working and punctual. He has also carried out a six-month tour in an internship capacity as stage manager on our nationwide tour for Finding Joy. Again, his work was faultless and he became a devoted Vamos family member. Most recently, he then went on to work in an apprenticeship role for a Heritage Lottery funded project where he lead on digital strategy, publicity design and tour managing.

In short, Tim can turn his hand to all things theatre with great energy and commitment. I truly believe Tim has an exciting future ahead of him. Snap him up.

I worked as an actress on tour for six months with Tim Montague as a Stage Manager. His skills, both human and professional, have been invaluable. Tim is always up for helping and supporting without being invasive. He took on him to offer ideas for the marketing department at Vamos and organised the realisation of the projects once accepted. He filled his position with efficiency, cheerfulness and humbleness. Reliable and a great team player, I highly recommend employing Tim for any similar position.

Nanou Harry
Finding Joy 2014

Tim has shone from the first moment he joined Vamos Young People’s Theatre so when an internship for a Touring Assistant Stage Manager became available on Vamos Theatre’s UK tour of Finding Joy 2014, there were no questions about offering it to Tim.

Since then, Tim has flourished in the role and become a highly valued member of the team. He is enthusiastic, conscientious, professional and extremely hard working. Within the role Tim has gained experience with all aspects of touring of touring with a small theatre company, from get ins/outs to representing the company on social media from the road. He is an excellent team player and a great communicator.

Although, Tim’s first passion is performing, his organisational skills, time keeping and ability to learn quickly means that his skill set is more than suited to backstage and production work as well. Tim has a strong grasp of the demands that are put on all members of a team when creating and touring theatre, allowing him to be adaptable in his work.

Tim works well under pressure and has happily put in long hours to get the job done to the highest possible standard. There is no questioning Tim’s commitment and passion for theatre and I do not doubt that Tim will go far in the industry.
